These Submission Terms apply whenever you upload, submit, or otherwise contribute video content (“your Content”) to soundengineer.africa. They are separate from, and in addition to, our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By submitting Content, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can submit

2. What you’re granting us

You keep ownership and copyright of your Content. By submitting it, you grant Sound Engineer Africa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, stream, publicly display, and promote your Content on the Platform, and to use reasonable excerpts or thumbnails of it to promote the Platform itself (for example, on our own social media). This licence lasts for as long as your Content remains published on the Platform, and ends when it’s removed, subject to section 6.

You are not paid for submitting Content, unless we separately agree otherwise with you in writing.

3. Content standards

Your Content should be sound-engineering related — live, studio, broadcast, gear, or career content aimed at sound engineers. We may reject or remove Content that:

4. Review and moderation

All submissions are reviewed before publishing. We may:

If we reject your submission, we’ll tell you why. A rejected submission’s video file is kept for 30 days so you can revise and resubmit, after which it’s deleted from our systems. There is no guarantee a resubmission will be accepted.

5. Takedown requests

If you believe Content on the Platform infringes your rights, contact us at hello@soundengineer.africa with a description of the Content, the right you hold, and where it appears. We will review and, where warranted, remove or disable access to the Content.

6. Removing your own Content

You can ask us to remove your published Content at any time by contacting us or, once available, through your account. We’ll act on this promptly, but copies already cached or shared by others before removal may persist outside our control.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The Platform and the ability to submit Content are provided “as is”. We don’t guarantee that submitted Content will be reviewed within any particular time, or accepted. To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the submission feature.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Sound Engineer Africa against claims, losses, or costs arising from your Content, or from your breach of these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Submission Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you submit Content is the one that applies to that submission. Material changes will be dated on this page.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, given that Sound Engineer Africa is operated by a company registered there.
