What advice do I have for someone aspiring to become a professional sound engineer? You know, I, I know, uh, uh, many people are seeking guidance on how to develop their skills, you know, what, what they should focus on, and also how to progress from a beginner to a pro, you know. You know, if you are someone aspiring to be a live sound engineer, you know, one of the key things to look at is is you need to find a place where you are able to engage in sound engineering. So one of the first simple steps is if you have the money, if you have the money and the resources, find the nearest school near you, go there, enroll, and learn there. If you don't have access to money, find a church, house of worship, different religious organizations, you know, where they've got a sound system, volunteer there. You know, as you are volunteering there, you are also learning the skill. Also, to step up from that, try to find technical companies in your area that basically provide professional services, you know, in events. You know, go there, knock at the door, you know, make yourself available to assist them. It could be sweeping their warehouse, it could be organizing their equipment, it could be just assisting them as they are setting up for events. And you can do this even for free because the most important thing is for you to be able to get in, to learn the skill, and then once you have learned the skill, people are able to then see the value of your skill and they're able to then reward you for it. So, So really, for anyone aspiring, there are different ways you can get in. If you have the money, find a school. If you don't have the money, find a place where they are practicing sound, whether it is a technical company, whether it is a band, whether it is a church organization. But the key thing is you need to start, and you need to start now. You need to literally start this week.
